FOOT MASSAGE

Foot massage is an ancient Chinese massage. It has been used for more than 3,000 years and today used for relaxation and alleviation of foot and heel soreness.  During a foot massage, your feet undergo a very relaxing experience as the reflex zones are manipulated and rubbed. You will take off both your socks and shoes, and sit in a comfortable chair. Our massage therapists will sit on benches, stools, or the floor while they work on your feet. We may ask about your ailments and use the reflex zones in your feet to help alleviate them or we may just knead and massage your feet from the heels to toes to release any tension.

Consult a doctor first if you have foot problems, an injury, a blood vessel disease associated with clots or varicose veins

  • Wait at least one hour for massage after eating

  • Don’t receive reflexology if you are pregnant
  • Drink water following the treatment to eliminate toxins and lactic acid buildup that occurs during the massage

SWEDISH MASSAGE

For those experiencing a massage for the first time the Swedish Massage is the most recommended.  It helps to relax the muscles with soft to medium pressure on the outer layers of the muscles.  Over time, the body builds up unhealthy amounts of stress hormones in response to work deadlines, traffic jams, relationship problems, workouts, and more. These hormones can cause physical problems, like digestive issues, headaches and sleeplessness. Relaxation massage decreases the amount of stress hormones in the body, leaving clients feeling completely relaxed and rested.

  • Consult with a doctor if you have injuries

  • Drink water following the massage

  • Let Therapist know if touch is to light or strong (speak up)

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

A Deep Tissue Massage helps to reduce chronic pain, improve blood pressure, break up scar tissue, rehabilitates injured muscles, and provides deep stress relief by applying firm to deep pressure on the deepest layers of the muscle tissue.  Areas receiving a Deep Tissue Massage includes:  necks, upper and lower back, legs, and shoulders.  Deep Tissue Massage targets the layers of connective tissue and muscle throughout the body. Using slow strokes to apply pressure, the massage focuses on areas of defined pain and tension.  While some of the strokes may feel the same as those used in Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage isn't the same as having a regular massage with deep pressure.  It is used to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle "knots" or adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Perhaps the greatest benefit of a sports massage is that it consists of specific components designed to cut down on sports-related injuries. It specifically alleviates muscle tension and inflammation post-event, and provides a warm-up to loosen muscles for amateur and professional athletes pre-event. One way to encourage muscle repair after training is with sports massage. Sports massage will help release any built up tension and lactic acid in the overworked muscles so that blood and oxygen can return to the muscle and effectively promote muscle repair. Sports massage, if received as part of a sports program, can help an athlete prevent injury due to overuse. sports massage is a good choice if you have a specific problem -- a tender knee from running, for instance. The therapist generally focuses in on the problem area -- a frozen shoulder or pulled hamstring, for instance -- rather than giving you a full-body massage.

COUPLES MASSAGE

A couples massage is a wonderfully relaxing, personal experience. During the session, two people receive massages at the same time and in the same room from two different therapists. The therapy provides many of the same benefits as other types of massage but with some added bonuses:

Bonding Opportunities

Couples massage is a special, shared experience that encourages two people to bond closer together. Clients may use the session to catch up, communicate and chat, or they may simply relax and enjoy their shared experience in comfortable silence.

Increased Comfort

Unlike traditional massages that are done solo, couples treatments allow clients to experience massage with someone they know. This familiarity provides comfort to first-timers who may initially be uncomfortable or nervous about the process. Having a partner in the room makes the session less intimidating and allows the clients to relax more fully. Many clients are also squeamish about undressing but are more comfortable in the presence of a friend or other partner.
